CATALAN AND SPANISH GOVERNMENT WILL PROMOTE MEDITERRANEAN DIET AS WORLD HERITAGE
At the closing session of the Forum Euromed Salut, Lluís Serra, Professor of Health Prevention and President of the Foundation for the Mediterranean Diet, has announced that the Government of Catalonia together with the Spanish government are going to formally encourage the UNESCO to declare it World Heritage. Professor Serra has urged all the Mediterranean countries to join this initiative, hoping that this declaration can be a reality by the celebration of the First World Congress of Nutrition and Public Health in Catalan Health Minister, Marina Geli, declared that they were going to hand the conclusions of this Forum to the Meeting of European Heads of State and Government that is going to take place in During two days, around 90 participants of 26 European and The Forum Euromed objectives are the acquisition of a better knowledge of the reality of the Mediterranean area in terms of health by using the debate and the elaboration of proposals and the promotion of the permeability of health policies among countries, in order to enable international collaboration.
